Ben Affleck seems intent to just hand something worth over $60 million to his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez, and its not for love but because sources say he’s come to a point where he’s simply “sick of the bickering” and “desperate for a clean break” from her.
This comes in light of their divorce proceedings which include the attempted sale of a joint property valued over $60 million. To ensure has this ‘clean break’ the actor has just handed over his entire stake in the property.
As for why, a well placed insider explained his reasons for giving up such a property. According to them, its because Ben’s been “locking horns” with Jen over this house for so long that it’s just ‘drained’ him. While talking to Heat World he’s said, “he doesn’t even care about the money as much as he cares about having some peace – and putting an end to the back and forth.”
The father of three children with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner is looking to start fresh the report suggests. Right now “his friends will tell you that he’s buying his way out of this mess because he doesn’t want to have to feel obligated in any way.”
The biggest reason why it even came to this is because despite the divorce, Affleck often felt ‘obligated’ to answer Lopez’s calls, for the mere fact that they still had shared investment, but as the source puts it “now he’s free of that, it’s a big relief for him.”
As for what Lopez thinks of this development the source made sure to mention that too, because, “she can’t help but see it as proof he is the good guy she fell in love with and now she’s hoping that somehow, they might be able to work it out. It’s typical of Ben – he’s trying to avoid drama and only creating more. His friends are shaking their heads and telling him he’s not thinking straight.”
