Zayn Malik shares highlights from ‘incredible’ first night of Vegas residency

Zayn Malik had his fans covered who couldn’t make it to his debut solo Las Vegas Residency.

Zquad supporters, official name for the dedicated fanbase of Zayn, 33, who were unable to attend the live performances still caught a glimpse of the Dusk Till Dawn hitmaker on stage at the Dolby Live stage at Park MGM.

After kicking off his seven-show gig on Tuesday, January 30, the former One Direction star took to his Instagram to officially share highlights from his recent concerts.

Zayn Malik has launched the first of his seven-show residency in Las Vegas with a mix of fan favorites, older hits, and four previously unreleased songs. The show took place at Dolby Live at Park MGM and marked Malik as the first One Direction member to headline a Vegas residency.

The 33-year-old singer teased the new material early in the performance, giving fans a preview of his upcoming album. “I’ve been in the studio, got a new record coming, and tonight you’ll hear some songs you’ve never heard before,” he said.

Malik opened the show wearing a blue military jacket with gold epaulettes, performing “She” from his debut album Mind of Mine. He then transitioned into an emotional set with hits like “Scripted” and “Lied To”, with lyrics displayed on large screens around the stage.

During a spotlighted performance of “It’s You”, fans lit the venue with phone flashlights, creating an intimate atmosphere. Malik described the residency as surreal, saying, “It still feels a little bit like a dream to me.”

The show emphasized simplicity, with Malik supported by an eight-woman band. True to his promise, he delivered four unreleased tracks: “Used to the Blues,” “Die For Me,” “Fatal,” and “Take Turns.” He also performed “Drunk” live for the first time, clarifying that while fans knew the song, it had never been performed on stage.

The residency comes shortly after Malik recovered from a two-week sinus infection, during which he thanked fans for their patience while managing a slightly dry voice

This Vegas debut arrives less than two years after Malik released his fourth studio album, Room Under the Stairs, and completed his first solo tour.
