The claims made in a new biography that Freddie Mercury had a secret daughter have received mixed reactions from fans.
A look at social media posts reveals some fans of the Queen frontman found the story heartwarming, which showcases a more personal side of him.
Others, however, are skeptical and demand concrete evidence, such as DNA tests, to verify the claim made in the book titled Love, Freddie.
The book has sparked fair a amount of curiosity among fans regarding the identity of Freddie Mercury’s alleged daughter.
Author Lesley-Ann Jones has identified the woman as B – who is aged 48 and works as a medical professional in Europe.
According to the book she is a woman with kids of her own and wishes to maintain her privacy.
She says, “The life I live with my husband and our family in another country is intensely private. We want things to stay that way. We cherish our peaceful and anonymous life, and we want nothing to disturb it. Nobody needs to know who I am”.
According to the book, B was born in 1976 after Freddie Mercury’s alleged fling with the wife of one of his close friends.
To corroborate her claims, “B” shared handwritten letters and journals from Mercury, which biographer Lesley-Ann Jones used to verify her story. The author also believes “B” is genuine and not a fantasist.
Other than that nothing is given in the book that could reveal her true identity.
