Tom Cruise set to receive an honorary Oscar

A career spanning decades, Tom Cruise did not get an Academy Award despite being nominated four times.

But now that is about to change. The Mission Impossible star is set to get an honorary Oscar at the 2025 Governors Awards.

According to the press release, “One of the most recognized and highest-grossing actors of all time, Cruise has been a committed advocate of the theatrical experience, and he helped to usher the industry through a challenging time during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
