‘The Penguin’ creator gets honest about season two

Initially, The Penguin was planned as a miniseries. However, when it became a mega-hit, the makers announced they were now open to working on season 2.

Similarly, the executive producer and showrunner Lauren LeFranc told Deadline that the creative team is hashing out ideas for season two.

“Beyond Colin [Farrell], it depends on whether there’s a story that we can make richer than what we’ve already done,” she said. “I fully arced everything. I’m in the process of exploring what that would be, if there will be more.”

However, the report stressed that Lauren’s comments did not mean the work on season two was imminent, which is what the Warner Bros. television head Channing Dungey earlier said, “I think if we can get the creative stars to line up in the right way, and the talent is available.”
