Expressing gratitude to the cast, the producer continued, “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing.”

Returning cast members include Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Laz Alonso, Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, Chace Crawford, and Dominique McElligott.

“You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them. To #TheBoys family: thank you, I love you all. To the fans: thanks for watching, can’t wait for you to see the grand finale. That’s a wrap,” Kripke concluded.

In December 2024, at a FYC panel, he admitted that he enjoyed creative freedom of writing the fifth season.

“It’s really fun when it’s the end,” he said. “It’s hard and it hasn’t hit me yet about the emotion of it. But just from a story point of, you don’t have to keep storylines going into a season beyond that really lets you blow the doors off it in a really exciting way.”
