Taraji P. Henson slams Oprah Winfrey feud rumors again

Taraji P. Henson cleared the air about her rumored rift with Oprah Winfrey once again.

In a recent chat on The Breakfast Club, the Hidden Figures actress opened up about her relationship with the media personality.

The speculations about the tension first began after Henson, who played Shug Avery in the 2023 musical film The Color Purple, which was produced by Winfrey, spoke out about pay inequality for Black women in Hollywood.

The 53-year-old actress revealed that there’s no truth to the feud rumors, and believed that they were meant to hurt the film’s success.

“When have you ever seen me drag another woman, particularly a Black woman? I’m 10 toes down for us,” she said. “I think it was just a campaign so that this Black movie wouldn’t do well.”

The Empire alum also shared insights into her and Winfrey’s strong bond as they usually exchange text messages.

“I have such love and fondness for her. She just texted me the other day, commending me for a job well done in Straw,” Henson shared.

“That was all fictitious, to try to draw a wedge between us. I’m not going to let them do that,” she added.
