‘Stranger Things’ finale trailer dropped

At last, the trailer for The Stranger Things finale is here, set to arrive in theatres and on the streamer.

The episode is titled The Rightside Up, as it will serve as the end of a story Duffer’s brothers, Matt and Ross, developed almost a decade ago.

As the anticipation for the finale is at fever-pitch, the directing duo recently weighed in on a question about the possibility of a “happy ending” for Eleven, given the threat of the military chasing her.

Ross explained it like this. “There is the supernatural threat, which is represented by Vecna this season. But the military has always posed a threat, from Season 1 on.”

But he acknowledged that the threat of military force will always be there. “Even when Brenner is gone, he gets continually replaced by someone else. In this case, in Season 5, by Kay.”

Keeping this in mind, Ross told Variety that they introduced Kali to contrast her point of view with Mike’s optimism about the series’ ending.

“So we needed Kali to represent maybe a more pessimistic, but perhaps realistic, version, compared to Mike’s worldview of we’re gonna have butterflies and rainbows.”

“And Kali’s going, ‘How is this going to work? And what is the solution here, that you can live a normal life?’ That’s really a huge part of Eleven’s journey this season.”
