Sean Diddy Combs faces legal twist as jury splits on racketeering

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial is nearing to final judgment as jurors hold up one out of five verdicts.

Following 12 hours long discussion the jury has reached a verdict on four of the five charges, including sex trafficking and transporting someone for prostitution. But they remain split on racketeering.

As per NBC News, the jury informed U.S. District Judge Aran Subramanian on July 1 that they were unable to reach a common opinion on the racketeering charge due to “unpersuadable views.”

In order for the rapper to be found guilty of racketeering, jurors must believe there was a spoken or unspoken agreement between at least two people to commit crimes, and that Combs knowingly took part.

The verdict on the four charges has not yet been read. The court will resume on July 2.
