Sabrina Carpenter is speaking out about her relationship status and the pressure of public attention.
In a recent talk with Rolling Stone published on June 12, the Manchild singer responded to rumors about her love life, months after reports of breakup with actor Barry Keoghan.
“Am I doing the single thing right now?” she teasingly said, adding, “I’m doing the 25-year-old thing right now, whatever that means.”
Though she didn’t mention anyone by name, the singer talked about how her relationships have affected her career and how hard it is to deal with public opinion.
“People underestimate how tricky it is to navigate being a young woman, having relationships, and then having a bunch of strangers have opinions on them.”
The Espresso singer also commented on how online gossip can get things wrong and shared that she is proud of herself for how she handled the chatter.
“Surely, all of these people that are commenting, if they had the same microscope on their personal lives, I don’t think they’d be as eloquently spoken as me,” Carpenter said.
“I know it’s a tale as old as time. It’s just unfortunate that it’s still a tale,” she added.
