Prince Andrew’s accuser Virginia Giuffre laid to rest secretly

Virginia Giuffre, the accuser of Prince Andrew, who reportedly took her own life at her home in Australia, has been laid to rest privately by family and friends.

According to a report by the New Idea, a secret funeral took place for Virginia Giuffre, a month after her suicide.

The private cremation for the 41-year-old is believed to have been held at the Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park in Perth, Australia.

The report further says no funeral notice was publicly advertised.

Following her death, according to a report by the AFP, Virginia Giuffre, who accused disgraced US financier Jeffrey Epstein and Britain´s Prince Andrew of abuse, family had said in a statement, “It is with utterly broken hearts that we announce that Virginia passed away last night at her farm in Western Australia.

“She lost her life to suicide.”

“There are no words that can express the grave loss we feel today with the passing of our sweet Virginia,” Giuffre´s family said, remembering her “incredible courage and loving spirit”.

In 2019, Epstein took his own life in a New York City jail cell, while awaiting his own trial.

Earlier, Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer had said she never feared she would take her own life, according to the Metro.

When asked in a recent 60 Minutes interview if she was concerned Virginia would take her own life, Sigrid McCawley responded, ‘I did not fear that’.

The lawyer went on saying: “Virginia is always someone to rally. So every time I talk to her, she could find the sunny side of something.

“That’s why I think that the disbelief has been so strong.”

The lawyer added, “I think that while Virginia could face many demons in her life and many villains, that moment of deprivation, I think, was something more than she could handle.”
