The 23-year-old pop superstar took to Instagram on Thursday, April 2, and revealed the album title, the release date, as well as the first visuals from the album – the album cover.
The drivers license hitmaker captioned the post, “my third album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ is out June 12th. I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it. available for preorder now!”
Rodrigo’s picture featured a pastel-pink hued theme, in accordance with the murals spread across the city for the album promotion days in advance.
The post sparked an overwhelmingly positive reaction from fans and peers alike – with Audrey Hobert, Gracie Abrams, Addison Rae, Maisie Peters, and more sharing their excitement for the new release.
Fans on social media also noticed that Rodrigo has marked the date April 7 on her website, which could mean a single announcement.
Behind the calendar illustration on the website, eagle-eyed fans noticed a poster saying, “on tour” which sparked hopes for a potential tour announcement ahead of the album release.
Fans also noted how Rodrigo’s album title seems inspired by Lana Del Rey as she broke away from her four-lettered titles after two albums.
