Nick Jonas explains how Jonas brothers navigate through 2013 breakup

Nick Jonas has recently explained why he and his brothers decided to break their band back in 2013.

In a clip from an upcoming episode of Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals series, Nick revealed that he and his brothers Kevin and Joe wanted to go solo after making music together for years.

However, six-year hiatus had helped them communicate their thoughts in a more subtle way and even improved their bond as brothers before bandmates.

Global star Priyanka Chopra’s husband remarked, “I can definitely see how I could have more lovingly communicated something that needed to be said.”

“We had to certainly do some healing and have some tough conversations,” mentioned Nick.

The father-of-one daughter, Malti, continued, “We also just had to create new memories together. And better times that weren’t work related, that were just us being family.”

Joe, who launched his solo project DNCE in 2015, opened up that “we were having such a difficult time just being real with each other back then”.

Reflecting on their band breakup, the 35-year-old musician believed that “it needed to happen”.

Now, after 12 years later, Joe shared, “It’s like we can communicate way better, because we don’t need to be scared to have tough conversations.”

Looking ahead, Kevin pointed out that they aren’t at a point where ‘they can completely remove their filter with each other all the time but find it easier to come together when needed”.

“When there’s a true need, I think we always band together and we come to each other as we are brothers first,” added the 37-year-old.
