‘M3GAN 3.0’ expected: Gerard Johnstone reveals

M3GAN 2.0, a horror film and the sequel of the 2023 version M3GAN has just released following the original’s significant success and strong box office results.

Gerard Johnstone, the director of M3GAN, told The Post that there could be more sequels, “Yes, absolutely. It makes sense for there to be more of these movies.” He further added, “To what extent I’ll be involved in, I don’t know.”

Moreover, he admitted to the publication that M3GAN 2.0 was “really challenging” so, he would need a short break before working on a third sequel.

“I’m really looking forward to a holiday, quite frankly,” the filmmaker shared

He further continued, saying, “It was like two years of really intense work and I put everything I had into this movie. So it’s hard for me to think of anything beyond this moment. But I hope that the movie is good enough that people will really want to see more of her in the future.”

For those unfamiliar, M3GAN 2.0 continues the story from the original M3GAN (2023). The story revolves around a young girl, Cady, who is sent to live with her aunt named Gemma. She is paired with M3GAN, which is an advanced AI doll, as her companion. 

With time M3GAN becomes dangerously protective, she turns violent, forcing Gemma and Cady to confront and ultimately destroy her to regain control.
