Kristin Chenoweth’s rendition of the national anthem before Game 7 at the Paycom Center has sparked a divided reaction online. 

The Tony Award-winning actress seemed to captivate the packed house with her performance, particularly with a long, high note towards the end that earned fiery applause. 

However, viewers watching the live broadcast were less impressed.

“The Kristin Chenoweth rendition of the National Anthem was a difficult listen,” one viewer commented on X.

Some drew comparisons to Fergie’s infamous 2018 NBA All-Star Game performance, saying it was “up there” with hers.
