Kristin Cavallari has opened up about her decision to cut her ties with her father, Dennis Cavallari.
In a new interview with People magazine on Monday, the 38-year-old TV personality revealed that she stopped speaking to her father after he “crossed the boundary” with her kids.
“I mean, honestly, and this might sound messed up to some people, but it’s the best decision I’ve ever made, cutting my dad out of my life,” said the Laguna Beach alum.
“Such a weight has been lifted from me,” she added. “There’s not one day where I miss him. I don’t know if it was two or three years ago, but I mean, I was an adult, let’s say I was 35. It was 35 years of buildup to that point.”
For those unversed, Kristin shares three children with her ex-husband Jay Cutler – sons Camden, 12, Jaxon, 11, and daughter Saylor, 9.
Although the Uncommon James founder did not elaborate on what exactly happened between her father and her children, she divulged that she’s “happy” with the decision to cut him out of her life.
“It was something that I had been wanting to do for a long time,” said Kristin. “He crossed the boundary with my kids.”
