KPop Demon Hunters directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans have officially confirmed that the record-breaking animated series is getting a new sequel.
“I feel immense pride as a Korean filmmaker that the audience wants more from this Korean story and our Korean characters,” Maggie told Netflix’s Tudum in a new interview on Thursday.
“There’s so much more to this world we have built, and I’m excited to show you,” he continued. “This is only the beginning.”
Chris added, “These characters are like family to us, their world has become our second home. We’re excited to write their next chapter, challenge them, and watch them evolve—and continue pushing the boundaries of how music, animation, and story can come together.”
However, the duo didn’t reveal the release date of the upcoming sequel.
In October, in an interview BBC News, Maggie said, “There’s definitely more we can do with these characters in this world.
“And whatever it will be, it will be a story that deserves to be a sequel, and it will be something that we want to see,” he added.
For those unversed, the first part of the K-pop Demon Hunters has received more than 500 million views on Netflix since its June 2025 debut.
