Kiefer Sutherland recalls working with late Rob Reiner in ‘A Few Good Men’ 

Kiefer Sutherland is remembering Rob Reiner after his tragic death alongside his wife, Michele Singer Reiner.

In a preview from the forthcoming special CBS News: Rob Reiner — Scenes from a Life, the 58-year-old Canadian actor reminisced about filming the iconic courtroom scene in the 1992 legal drama A Few Good Men with his co-star Jack Nicholson, under the direction of the late Rob.

Sutherland played the role of Lt. Jonathan Kendrick in the legal drama film in which Colonel Nathan Jessup says, “You can’t handle the truth!”

While conversing with CBS News in the one-hour special airing on Sunday, December 21, the Young Guns star said, “No one said a word, and Rob went up to Jack Nicholson and whispered in his ear, ‘Do you want to do another one?’ And Jack Nicholson said, ‘Well, we’re here.'”

“So they did another one, and it was just as extraordinary,” he revealed.

Sutherland went on to share that they initially planned to shoot the whole day but the scene made Rob happy, so he sent everyone home early.

“They had planned to shoot the whole day, and Rob looked at everybody and said, ‘I couldn’t ask for anything more, so you guys all have the rest of the day off,’” the Tinsel Town actor recounted.

For those unaware, Rob and his wife, Michele, were found lifeless in their Los Angeles residence on Sunday, December 14. Their son Nick Reiner, who was alive and interrogated by the police, is now in custody and has been found guilty on two counts.
