Jonathan Groff shocks Keanu Reeves during Tony Awards performance

Jonathan Groff shocked the audience at the 2025 Tony Awards with a daring performance.

The Tony winner, 40, was performing at the 78th annual award show on Sunday when he suddenly walked into the audience and climbed on the armrests of the chair Reeves, 60, was seated on.

The John Wick star was shown from between the singer’s legs as he cheered along. At one point, Reeves held up two rock and roll sign gestures to the camera.

Groff is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his role as Bobby Darin in the Broadway musical.

Meanwhile, Reeves, a presenter at the award show, is set to make his Broadway debut in the upcoming revival of Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot. He’ll star alongside his Bill & Ted costar Alex Winter.

The hilarious moment marked a special reunion for Reeves and Groff, who costarred in the fourth Matrix installment.

In the action flick, Reeves reprised his iconic Neo role while Groff joined the franchise as Agent Smith.
