Jim Bob, Michelle Duggar respond to son Joseph’s arrest

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have finally broken their silence following the arrest of their son Joseph. For those unversed, Joseph is accused of molesting a 9-year-old girl.

“Jim Bob and Michelle are heartbroken over this entire situation,” a representative for the couple said in a statement shared with Page Six on Monday, March 30.

“Right now, they are focused on loving their family and helping [his wife] Kendra and her children during this difficult time,” added a spokesperson. “They are praying for the victim. They ask for privacy and appreciate the kind words and prayers offered by so many.”

Joseph was arrested on March 18 in Florida on charges of molesting a girl under the age of 12.

According to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, the 31-year-old was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct with the victim. The father-of-four has received no visits from loved ones while in an Arkansas jail.

As per the latest report, Joseph’s wife, Kendra Caldwell, was also arrested and charged in Arkansas. However, a family spokesperson told People magazine that the charges filed against Kendra are “completely unrelated” to the serious charges her husband is expected to face in Florida.

“She’s not suspected or accused of participating in his alleged crime,” said the representative.

For those unversed, Joseph and Kendra exchanged vows in 2017. The couple shares four kids together – son Garrett, 7, daughters Addison, 6, and Brooklyn Praise, 5; and son Justus, 3.
