The first trailer for Kiss of the Spider Woman is finally here and people cannot stop talking about Jennifer Lopez.
The movie is directed by Bill Condon, who is known for musicals like Dreamgirls and Beauty and the Beast but this time he is telling a smaller, more personal story.
The story is mostly set in a prison, which can feel dark and lonely. Diego Luna plays Valentín, a political prisoner and Tonatiuh plays Molina, his cellmate.
Life in prison is hard and tense but Molina has a way to escape as he imagines a glamorous Hollywood musical starring his idol, Ingrid Luna, who is played by Jennifer Lopez.
The trailer shows this mix of reality and fantasy, flipping between the cold, quiet prison and the bright, glittery musical world in Molina’s mind.
However, watching it gives a feeling of both sadness and excitement at the same time.
Lopez shines in these fantasy scenes, bringing energy, charm and star power. But the movie is also about Molina and Valentín.
The musical sequences become a way for them to connect, slowly building trust and understanding between them.
