Jamie Oliver gets honest about navigating family tragedy 

Jamie Oliver recently got candid and opened up about a personal tragedy.

While having a conversation with The Sunday Times, the 50-year-old Celebrity chef and restaurateur, who is the father of daughters Poppy, 23, Daisy, 22, and Petal, 16, and sons Buddy, 14, and River, 8, shared that some of his children have recently been diagnosed as neurodivergent, and knowing how they see things differently has helped him and his wife Jools be “better parents.”

Oliver said he and his wife talk about their kids every night and have “learnt to understand that their behaviour is because they’re seeing things differently.”

The star of Jamie’s 15-Minute Meals noted that being fully aware of the differences your kids have actually “allows you to be a better parent.”

For the unversed, Neurodivergent is a term used to describe people whose brains work in a different way, and it includes things like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.

Oliver mentioned that many people in his family have these conditions and jokingly remarked that life at home is “bonkers,” explaining, “Imagine four neurodiverse people at the dinner table trying to get their point across.”
