Jackie Chan is finally lifting the lid on why Rush Hour 3 wasn’t liked by film critics as he gears up for his upcoming film.
During an exclusive interview with BuzzFeed on Wednesday, May 28, the 71-year-old actor ranked his favourite films in chronological order.
Speaking of the original 1998 film, Chan explained, “I don’t know. You know what, the first one: little money, little time. We shot it like, ‘Go, go, go, go!’ The second one: a lot of money, a lot of time. The third one: too much money, too much time.”
He claimed that the original Rush Hour remains one of the most popular films of 1998, attributing the sequels’ lack of critical acclaim to their inability to match the first film’s success.
The versatile actor further went on to explain, “Too much money is no good.”
While Chan and Tucker haven’t worked on any film in two decades, the Rush Hour actor hinted at the possibility of a fourth film in the franchise.
For the unversed, the actor’s new film Karate Kid: Legends is slated to premiere on Thursday, May 30.
