David Beckham was recently knighted in the King Charles birthday honours list. 

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Beckham shared a lighthearted video, featuring a funny exchange with his wife Victoria Beckham. 

In the caption, he affectionately referred to her as Lady Beckham – a nod to the formal title she has taken on as the wife of a knight.

For those who might not know, when a man is knighted, his wife is formally addressed as ‘Lady’ followed by her husband’s surname. 

Beckham, 50, joined Manchester United as a trainee in 1993, going on to make almost 400 appearances for the club where he won a string of titles and cups.

He subsequently played for Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, and AC Milan, as well as captaining his country 58 times and making 115 appearances.

His marriage to fashion designer and former Spice Girl Victoria Beckham in 1999 cemented a celebrity status which went far beyond his sporting exploits.
