Cardi B is stepping into the beauty arena, but she’s making it clear she’s not here to compete with Beyoncé or Rihanna.

The Grammy-winning rapper is debuting her new haircare brand Grow-Good Beauty on April 15.

Speaking on the Aspire with Emma Grede podcast, Cardi addressed the idea of entering a “saturated” celebrity beauty market.

“It’s not even about competition,” she said. “It’s about what’s going to have your hair growing.”

Cardi praised Beyoncé’s line Cécred, launched in 2024, calling it “very f—ing good.”

She also emphasized her admiration for peers like Rihanna and Tracee Ellis Ross, who have built successful beauty empires.

Cardi has long shared her hair journey with fans, including homemade treatments inspired by family recipes.

She revealed that experimenting with onion and garlic masks sparked the idea for her new brand though not without mishaps.

“I put [garlic] too raw in my hair and for six months straight…, every time I [would] sweat, I smelled like a pasta bowl,” she joked on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Beyond products, Cardi wants her brand to challenge harmful beauty standards.

“There’s no such thing as bad hair,” she said. “All hair is good.”
