Billy Ray Cyrus and Miley Cyrus have reconciled after a three-year long estranged relationship.
On May 31, while promoting her album Something Beautiful, the Hannah Montana actress candidly talked with The New York Times about mending the strained relationship with her father, with whom she has been in a feud with since he divorced her mother Tish Cyrus-Purcell.
“As I’ve gotten older, I’m respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom’s really loved my dad for her whole life, ” she said. “And I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard.”
“I think I took on some of my mom’s hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain.”
“Now that my mom is so in love with my stepdad, who I completely adore, and now that my dad, I see him finding happiness, too — I can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing. I’m being an adult about it,” the songstress concluded.
For those unversed, Miley Cyrus’ parents were married from 1993 to 2022.
Just hours after her interview, Billy Ray Cyrus showed support to his daughter for her ninth album by re-sharing her Instagram story on his account.
In his story, he wrote, “So proud of you Mile!!!” over the clip with a heart sticker and also tagged her.
Miley Cyrus’ ninth album Something Beautiful, which features a total of 13 songs, released on May 30, 2025.
