Ariana Grande pays heartfelt tribute to mother Joan Grande on 68th birthday

Ariana Grande took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 10, to celebrate her mother Joan Grande’s 68th birthday with a touching tribute and a series of nostalgic photos.

The Grammy-winning singer shared a vintage picture of her mom along with a sweet note, calling Joan “the most beautiful and brilliant and compassionate mama and friend.” 

In the caption, Ariana wrote, “Happy birthday to my mama! I love you with all my heart. There is no one like you.”

In addition to the throwback, Ariana posted three selfies with Joan, appearing to be from the set of Wicked, and a solo shot highlighting her mother’s signature ponytail.

Ariana, who has always spoken openly about her close relationship with her family, also shares a strong bond with her brother Frankie and their parents, Joan and Edward Butera.

Despite Joan and Edward’s split during their children’s early years, Ariana revealed on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast that she played a pivotal role in helping them reconnect and become friends again.

The Eternal Sunshine artist described how, around her 24th birthday, she encouraged her parents to put the past behind them, joking, “It’s been 18 years. I’m 80. Please get over it.”

Her efforts paid off, and today she says she “can’t separate them,” calling their renewed friendship “the best thing in the whole world.”
