Ana de Armas has opened up about filming a scene that she ‘hated’ to film for Eden.
While appearing on Hot Ones, she candidly talked about her experience of filming the upcoming movie.
The Hollywood actress stars in the movie alongside Jude Law, Vanessa Kirby, Daniel Brühl and Sydney Sweeney.
Referring to the scene in which she has to sing a song, she began, “I hated it. I remember when I talked to Ron. And I was like ‘Ron, I really think I should lip sync. This is not for me.’ And he just didn’t want to hear it.”
The survival thriller is based on the true story of the first couple who tried to settle on the Galápagos Islands. The story revolves around a power struggle between three couples.
Recalling the director Ron Howard’s response, de Armas continued, “He was like ‘no, you’re singing. You’re singing. If you do it bad, it’s good for the character.’ And I’m like ‘yeah but people don’t know that.’”
However, the From the World of John Wick: Ballerina actress had to learn the song for the movie as she couldn’t convince him for a lip sync.
“It was horrible. I was terrified. I would rather do 100 stunts than sing that song. It was terrifying because it’s also in front of all the actors. I just felt very exposed and vulnerable and it’s not one of my talents, for sure,” she added before exiting the chat.
Eden is scheduled to be released in cinemas on August 22, 2025.
