Jennifer Lopez’s new song targets Ben Affleck directly?

Jennifer Lopez sparked fresh rumours with Ben Affleck after debuting a powerful new song that hints at heartbreak.

For the unversed, the 55-year-old American singer, songwriter, and actress, who tied the knot with Affleck in 2022, filed for divorce in August last year.

The high-profile Hollywood couple rekindled their romance a year before their marriage, as they had previously been engaged to one another in 2002 but parted ways in 2004 for the first time after two years of engagement.

It is being reported that Lopez’s divorce from Ben, which was finalised earlier this year in January, influences her new music.

According to Us Weekly, on Wednesday, July 2, the Dance Again crooner invited 30 fans from Los Angeles to a listening party and shared six new songs at the event, including one called Wreckage of You, before kicking off her new tour, Up All Night Live, on July 8, 2025.

Other songs on which she also performed were Up All Night, Save Me Tonight, Birthday, Regular, and Free.

Notably, a source told the outlet that the track Wreckage of You is about Lopez’s recent breakup with the 52-year-old American actor and filmmaker, as they quipped, “[It’s a] very emotional, empowering song about walking away from a relationship and coming out a stronger person.”

In addition, Edgardo Luis Rivera, who went to the event, shared that the On the Floor hitmaker co-wrote and recorded the song two weeks ago and “she mentioned how last year was a very difficult time for her both personally and professionally.”

Rivera revealed that Jennifer Lopez used the word “wreck” “because it means destruction, but she wasn’t destroyed,” since the song lyrics say, “I’m stronger after the wreckage of you.”
