Squid Game’ Park Sung-hoon reveals Cho Hyun-ju’s death spoiler

Park Sung-hoon has just opened up about his filming experience of Squid Game season 3.

The Korean actor portrayed the role of a transgender former soldier, Cho Hyun-ju, also known as player 120, in the Hwang Dong-hyuk directorial movie.

During an interview with Variety, he candidly talked about what fans can expect from his on-screen character.

Recalling filming the death scene of his character, Sung-hoon began, “Director Hwang [Dong-hyuk] gave me a direction saying, ‘When Hyun-ju slips away from the camera, could you have one tear roll down your face?’”

“And I thought it would be hard, but I actually did it in one take. So when I finished it, the staff all clapped and cheered for me,” the My Only One actor added.

Referring to his villainous role in dramas like Queen of Tears and the Glory, he said, “Recently, I’ve played a lot of villain characters, so I was so lucky to be able to play Hyun-ju, who is such a cool character.”

Before concluding, Park Sung-hoon told the outlet, “It was very hard for me to say goodbye to her, because I thought she would last longer. I think she died earlier than she should have, so it’s a shame.”
