Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, reports say, had a nasty fight during the shoot of a three-part road trip for Netflix, leaving the project in tatters.
Now, the doc’s director, Nicola Marsh, reacts to the row on Instagram, writing, “And there goes the last year of work.”
The brutal bust-up happened six months ago.
Malik allegedly delivered remarks about Tomlinson’s late mom — who passed away from leukaemia in 2016 — turning the emotional reunion into the dramatic fallout.
“The lads were filming on location. Zayn started acting up and was mouthing off,” the source claimed.
What made the incident spiral was when Malik threw a punch at his former bandmate when the shooting was happening in Wyoming.
Tomlinson was reportedly shocked because not only did he receive a blow that cut his head and left him with a concussion, but he was also stunned by the Magic hitmaker allegedly using such remarks about his mom.
“It spiraled into a row, then Zayn made a remark about Louis’ mom, Johannah. Louis was stunned and in shock. As he went to move, Zayn then attacked him.”
“What clearly hurt Louis the most was Zayn’s comment about his mother,” the insider stated, adding, “Zayn knew how much Johannah means to Louis and his family.”
Following the incident, efforts were made to bridge the gap between Malik and Tomlinson.
“It made Louis so upset; it was clear there was no way he would ever return to filming with Zayn.”
However, no breakthrough had been made, forcing Netflix “to axe the series.”
Meanwhile, Zayn and Tomlinson have, according to reports, not spoken to each other so far, which has raised concerns among One Direction fans about whether their friendly bond after this alleged incident can return to normal.
