Cardi B reveals major life shift after split from Offset

Cardi B admitted that she has become a “new” person after breaking up from ex husband Offset.

The rapper opened up about how splitting from her husband of seven years kicked off a major change in her career and personal life.

It is pertinent to mention that Cardi and Offset tied the knot in 2017 in a private ceremony and she filed for divorce in 2024.

Cardi said on the Aspire With Emma Grede podcast, “I feel like last year a new person was reborn.”

“I don’t know if it was the divorce. I don’t know if something woke me up. I feel like I’m definitely a new person,” the mom-of-three explained.

Following her divorce, Cardi B realized this is the time to lock in professionally and build her own empire.

“I’m 33 years old,” Cardi continued. “I’m in my Jesus year. I’m in my Orisha year. This is the year. It’s like God is telling me, ‘It’s gonna be now or never—take advantage of it.’”

“A lot of artists or celebrities that have really big, major businesses that are successful, they didn’t build their brand on the second or third year of being big celebrities,” Cardi added. “They built their brand when they [were] seven to eight to 10 years in the business, and I feel like right now is the perfect time.”

Cardi shares three kids, Kulture, seven, Wave, four, and Blossom, one, with OffSet. She also welcomed a son with NFL player Stefon Diggs in November.
