“I was grateful for the life I had before, but in every meaningful and measurable way, she’s changed it in such great ways. I think I was someone when we first met, that we all talked about this, but I had my nervousness. What were people going to say? I had a hard time just leaning into the connection,” he told the outlet.

On the other hand, the age gap never bothered Joy, she admitted, “It didn’t bother me in the beginning. I wasn’t really the one who had any doubts or nervousness around it. My parents have an age gap. My sisters have an age gap. It just wasn’t anything that I wasn’t used to. So I think, for me, that’s just an easy thing to not really worry about.”
