HBO Max announces casting of Harry, Ron, and Hermione

After a long wait, HBO Max has revealed the names of the young actors cast as Harry, Ron, and Hermione characters.

According to Variety, Dominic McLaughlin will essay Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton is set to play Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout will appear as Ron Weasley. 

The official casting announcement comes after a lengthy search to find the right actors for the iconic roles, with over 30,000 actors auditioning for these parts. The rest of the cast has also been announced.

Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer and director Mark Mylod, in a statement, said, “After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron.”

They continued, “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen.”

“We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It’s been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

Moreover, filming for the reboot of the Harry Potter show will begin this summer. In the meantime, the exact release date is unknown.
