Jennifer Love Hewitt shares candid views on her franchise film

It was 1997 when Jennifer Love Hewitt first appeared in I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Now, more than two decades later, she is returning to the franchise and reprising her character in the sequel of I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

“When I heard it was happening, I think my honest reaction was, ‘Oh my gosh. That’s great for them.’ I never pictured them even asking me to do it,” she told Extra.

The actress said her character will serve as a bridge to the 1990s and younger audiences.

“I have confidence that the moms who are buying those tickets for their daughters to see the movie are there because they remember who Julie was, and they’re where I am now, and we carry that with pride,” she said about the reboot.
