Sentimental Value star Renate Reinsve had to keep her sister in line at the Golden Globes.

Renate, who hails from Norway, took her sister as her plus one to the star-studded ceremony and had to stop her from touching Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Leonardo DiCaprio stepped on the train of my sister’s dress, he smiled at her and apologised,” Renate – who plays actress Nora Borg in the multi-award winning Norwegian film – told The Times.

“She lives deep in the Norwegian countryside, she’d never been to anything like this in her life, and she had this really deep impulse to touch him. I had to stand between them and say, ‘Please, don’t do it, be cool. Step away!”‘

She gushed, “The two of us had so much fun that night, we got so drunk!”

Renate was nominated in the Best Actress category at both the BAFTAs and the Golden Globes, but lost to Hamnet’s Jessie Buckley. She is also up for the Best Actress Academy Award.

At the BAFTAs, it was Renate who stepped on someone’s dress and had to apologize. As the actress walked past CBBC star Mia McKenna-Bruce, 28, who was being interviewed by the press at the red carpet, she accidentally stood on her dress.

Renate apologized quickly, with Mia saying, “No, you’re fine, it’s fine. It takes up a lot of space.”

“You look great,” Renate said.
