Conan O’Brien addresses Rob Reiner’s tragic death after explosive clash at Christmas bash

Conan O’Brien finally broke his silence on the murders of friend Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer.

“It’s just so awful,” the 62-year-old TV host told the New Yorker. “And I think about how Rob felt about things that are happening in the country, how involved he was, how much he put himself out there—and to have that voice go quiet in an instant is still hard for me to comprehend.”

Recalling his relationship with Rob and his wife, Conan shared, “I knew Rob and Michele, and then increasingly got closer and closer to them, and I was seeing them a lot.”

“My wife and I were seeing them a lot, and they were so—they were just such lovely people,” he added. “And to have that experience of saying good night to somebody and having them leave and then find out the next day that they’re gone. . . . I think I was in shock for quite a while afterward.”

For those unversed, Rob and Michele were found unresponsive in their home on December 14. Later that night, the couple’s son Nick, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Afterwards, reports indicated that Rob and Michele’s deaths occurred following an argument with their son Nick, 32, at Conan’s Christmas bash. Nick is now being held without bail.
