Sydney Sweeney is getting honest about facing constant ‘no’s in Hollywood.
In a recent chat with People at the New York premiere of her upcoming movie, Housemaid, the 28-year-old actress shared some raw and harsh truths of the acting industry.
“Honestly, do it as long as you love it,” she said to aspiring actors. “You gotta love it a lot, because it’s really hard, and you’re going to be told ‘no’ more than you’re gonna be told ‘yes.'”
“You have to deal with rejection, and it’s a lot,” she gave a reality check.
“So if you love it to your core, then none of that matters because you’re getting to do what you love,” Sweeney added.
This came days after the Euphoria star gushed over her recent project, in which she portrayed the life of boxer Christy Martin.
“I am so deeply proud of this movie. Proud of the film [director] David [Michôd] made. Proud of the story we told. Proud to represent someone as strong and resilient as Christy Martin. This experience has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” she wrote on her social media.
Sweeney went on to express how “proud” she is of the project, noting, “This film stands for survival, courage, and hope. Through our campaigns, we’ve helped raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence. We all signed on to this film with the belief that Christy’s story could save lives.”
