Elle Fanning and Dakota Fanning are officially teaming up for a new project, and this time, they will be playing sisters on screen.
While chatting with PEOPLE Magazine about their upcoming film The Nightingale, Elle, the younger of the two, opened up about what it will be like to portray siblings alongside her real-life big sister.
“I think we’re going to have to be fellow actors on set,” Elle said when asked during the premiere of her film Sentimental Value about working opposite Dakota.
“But of course,” she continued, acknowledging the natural connection they share.
“We are playing sisters in the film that we’re going to be working on together,” Elle, who also happens to be her sister’s closest friend, continued.
She added that despite maintaining professionalism, “we have to bring a little bit of that,” referencing their real-life bond.
For those unversed, in the upcoming adaptation of Kristin Hannah’s bestselling novel The Nightingale, Elle, 27, and Dakota, 31, will play Isabelle and Vianne, two sisters navigating survival, sacrifice, and resilience during the German occupation of France in World War II.
