‘Jaws’ to mark big celebration on 50th anniversary

On June 20, the iconic film Jaws will mark its 50th anniversary of release. To celebrate the milestone, NBC and Steven Spielberg have ready a surprise for fans.

It involves a new special introduction by the director which will add to the screening the studio plan to air on the date.

Also, Variety reported that NBCUniversal is in talks with Major League Baseball to have Jaws-themed matches in different cities from June 20 to 22 with “custom scoreboard content, exclusively fan giveaways and more.”

“Universal is home to the biggest movies in the world and it doesn’t get any bigger than ‘Jaws,’” said Jenny Storms, chief marketing officer, of NBCUniversal Television & Streaming. 

“We want to celebrate 50 years of this enduring film that has captured the public imagination for generations by bringing it to audiences at home in all the ways they love to watch,” the executive added.

Steven’s Jaws is considered a pivotal film in Hollywood’s history which influenced many projects afterwards.
