Michael Jackson’s legacy brings son Prince to tears in touching biopic

Prince Jackson has opened up about the emotional impact of the upcoming biopic about his father, Michael Jackson.

The 27-year-old son of the late pop icon shared that he broke down after reading the film’s script which was written by award-winning English writer Graham King.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie Michael already made history as the most-watched music biopic trailer ever, getting more than 116 million views in just 24 hours.

However, the film stars Michael’s real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson as the King of Pop.

Prince, who worked as an Executive Producer on this very personal project, said the experience was deeply personal for him.

“It was very exciting. I spent a lot of time speaking with Graham about the man that I knew as my father, which is not the King of Pop, was not the Michael Jackson. It was daddy to me,” he shared.

He further explained that King spent months meeting family members, friends and people who worked with his father to show an honest picture of the man behind the legend.

“After I read the first draft of the script, I called him because I was crying afterwards. I told him that he had the most authentic picture of my father,” Prince continued.

Reflecting on the story, he said the movie captured his father’s journey from poverty in Gary, Indiana, to global fame.

“That was my dad, and that’s exactly who he is,” he said.

For the unversed, Michael is set to release in cinemas in April.
