Jelly Roll had a retail therapy session go down under at a Louis Vuitton outlet.
The country star, 40, took to his Instagram Stories on Wednesday, November 5, claiming he was treated like a criminal at the Louis Vuitton store in Sydney.
“Hey man, the Louis Vuitton in Sydney legitimately just treated us like we were finna come in and rob that place,” Jelly Roll said, laughing as he filmed himself outside the luxury boutique.
“I have never been looked at more like a crim— Listen, the last time I was looked at like a criminal this bad, I was an actual criminal this bad.”
The Save Me singer, who’s been performing across Australia, has long been candid about his rough past. Before finding fame, Jelly Roll — born Jason Bradley DeFord — was arrested around 40 times for drug-related charges. He couldn’t even tour internationally until recently due to his record.
In an interview with Jon Bon Jovi for Interview magazine last year, Jelly reflected on finally being allowed to perform overseas. “It’s funny, America has finally agreed to let me leave and give me a passport, but some countries won’t let me come because of my felonies,” he said. “We’re working on that. I think it’s going to work in my favor.”
Jelly Roll, who toured Europe with Post Malone earlier this year, has also spoken about his past remorse. “This is a grown man looking back at a 16-year-old kid that made the worst decision he could have made in life,” he told Billboard in 2023.
