Renee Rapp was forced to do something she’s never done in her career: stepping back from her scheduled gig.
The American singer-songwriter announced a break from her Bite Me Tour due to some health issues.
In a concerning statement, the Mean Girls star revealed she had to postpone her Tampa and Atlanta tour dates, set for November 4 and November 5, respectively, to have a much needed vocal rest.
In an Instagram story published on Sunday October 27, she wrote apologetically, “In my career I have never had to do this before— but I have to reschedule tonight and tomorrow’s shows.”
“I’ve been pushing through an illness but my body has finally given out,” the actress, who gained recognition for starring as Regina George in the Broadway musical Mean Girls, continued.
“My doctors have told me that it isn’t safe to perform due to the need for vocal rest and physical recovery,” she added.
