Miley Cyrus gets honest about having lost the rights of some of her biggest hits

Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus recently got honest about her feelings after she lost her chance to sing any of the Hannah Montana songs she spent her youth on.

The pops-tar tugged at these heartstrinsg on the Every Single Album podcast.

There she started right off the bat and said, “After I left Disney, I wasn’t allowed to perform any of the Hannah Montana music.”

But “it’s not like I wanted to. I mean, performing ‘The Best of Both Worlds’ between ‘We Can’t Stop’ and ‘Wrecking Ball’,” she added to, as it “wouldn’t have really made sense.”

But still “it was still sad knowing those songs have my voice, my face, and I wasn’t allowed to sing them.”

It was only after she got the title of Disney Legend at the 2024 award stage she was able to “get permission” and Cyrus dubbed that “pretty cool.”

Near the end of the chat, the singer also credited some big artists for helping bring her visual album to life as well. Something Beautiful is slated to release on June 12, 2025.

About it Cyrus admitted, “I completely worship and idolize the Tina Turners, the Donna Summers, Diana Ross and so many ladies before me that paved this path that I’m on.” So even though “this is my journey but they made it so much easier because they’ve already broken down all the doors for me.”
