Kanye West vows to use Ye on social media

In 2021, Kanye West legally changed his name to Ye. but at the time, many seemed not to accept this change.

On social media, official platforms, and in the press, the Donda hitmaker is usually referred to by his original name.

However, the Runaway hitmaker kept urging, and often demanding, to address him by his legal name, Ye.

For example, last year, his then-chief of staff, Milo Yiannopoulos, wrote a letter to the heads of the music industry stating that his decision to change his name should be respected.

“Ye is a Black man in America who wants the right to full self-determination just like everyone else,” he penned.

Similarly, now the Grammy winner shared in the latest post to his more than thirty million followers, “Ima finally stop using the @kanyewest Twitter cause my name is Ye. Gonna start a ye account, and it is what it is.”

Nonetheless, Kanye has been using the nickname since 2018. He also named his 2018 album Ye.
